Aaniin Curve Lake,
As we prepare for the rollout of vaccinations in our community, we want to take a moment to
remind everyone that the Oshkiigmong Early Learning Centre and Curve Lake First Nation School
will begin the process of bringing the children back to programming on Monday March 1, 2021.
Children/students will be brought back in small cohorts to ensure they can safely distance
themselves. Staff will communicate with parents the date their child may return. The current
priority list for the OELC is for a single parent and parents who are both working or attending
school outside the home.
The OELC and CLFNS staff have put the resumption plan in place and are ensuring that all the
protocols are in place for a safe return to the buildings. Staff returned in person on Monday
February 22, 2021, after working from home since December 23, 2020.
The Education Department Pandemic Document, containing the resumption plan, polices, and
busing guidelines will be updated continually with the latest protocols from the Ministry of
Education and Peterborough Public Health. Masking is mandatory for children/students grades
1-6 at the OELC and CLFN School and encouraged for children 2-5 years old.
On behalf of Curve Lake First Nation Council,
Chief Emily Whetung
