Johnny A. Walker 

A treaty status band member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, Johnny recently started employment with Curve Lake First Nation as the Chief Operating Officer on March 9th, 2020 and relocated to Bridgenorth from Matheson, Ontario. Johnny and his spouse Crystal and their 2 son’s Branton and Monte are currently loving the new community of Bridgenorth as Matheson had a small township of 1000 residents and 7 businesses only. The family is loving the new area & schools and local services / amenities and neighbors that have been welcoming and friendly.

Johnny Walker’s educational background consists of a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan. His other accomplishments include a Chemical Laboratory Technician Certificate from Northlands College / Sask Polytech, a Security Guard Certificate from PADC / Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, a Business Certificate from SIIT / Sask Polytech and a Certificate in Indigenous Business Administration from the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College / University of Saskatchewan. Johnny is currently working on his master’s degree in Business Administration part-time from the University of Saskatchewan and near completion of his Leadership Certificate from the University of Waterloo. Johnny was also a former University of Saskatchewan Senator from July 2009 – July 2012.

Johnny’s work experience includes Director of Education – Post Secondary for his First Nation for 8 years, CEO / Acting Director of Operations for a Tribal Council consisting of 12 First Nations for 10 years, Campus Director of a First Nations educational Technical / Trades Institute for 1 year and most recently Director of Operations for a First Nation in Northern Ontario for 1.6 years. Johnny enjoys golfing, fishing and hunting, meeting new people and is excited and honored to be part of the CLFN administration and looks forward to working for the Chief and Council and welcomes everyone to come & sit with him to chat and share new ideas, goals, visions and future initiatives / programs / services going forward.
