CURVE LAKE FIRST NATION EXTENDS SHUTDOWN UNTIL APRIL 30

Dear Members,

On March 30th, 2020, Chief and Council passed a motion to extend the community shutdown until April 30th in an effort to stave off COVID-19. The motion is as follows:

COUNCILLOR LAURIE HOCKADAY MOVED AND COUNCILLOR SEAN CONWAY SECONDED TO APPROVE CURVE LAKE FIRST NATION COVID-19 CLOSURE UNTIL APRIL 30, 2020. ALL IN FAVOUR. MOTION CARRIED.

Due to the continued crisis, Curve Lake First Nation has decided that the Oshkiigmong Early Learning Centre and the CLFN School will remain closed until April 30th. Our decision was made for the best interest of the children and community of Curve Lake, and in line with the Provincial schools. Education staff have been deemed non-essential, therefore, staff are working from home. School staff will be contacting families and providing information on the school website.

Furthermore, CLFN has closed all buildings to the public and suspended all programs and events until April 30th to protect the health and well-being of community members, Elders, staff, students and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

Best regards,
