Dear Parents and Guardians,
At a special meeting of Council today and recommended by the staff and Education Committee,
it was decided that the Oshkiigmong Early Learning Centre and the Curve Lake First Nation
School will remain closed to children through December 2020, pending a Risk Assessment.
The Risk Assessment will identify risks associated with having the children in the buildings.
Factors will take into consideration the environment, staffing, cohorts of children, safety measures
already in place and the general impact that reopening will have in our community.
Once Council is satisfied that the risk for children returning is low, a date will be set for the
resumption plan to begin. Please refer to the Education Resumption plan and reach out to staff
with any questions you may have.
We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to ensure a safe and successful
plan to reopen the buildings to your children.
Respectfully,
Chief Emily Whetung on behalf of Curve Lake Council
Jeffrey Jacobs, Sean Conway, Crystal Cummings, Laurie Hockaday, Deborah Jacobs, Nodin Knott, Arnold Taylor, Saga Williams
Chief Operating Officer, Johnny Walker on behalf of Curve Lake Administration.
