Do you fish near or at Hurdons Earth Dam (Peterborough) or Talbot Dam – Lock 38 (near Rama)?

Parks Canada is repairing the Hurdons Earth Dam due to deterioration (in Peterborough) and repairing by expanding the size of the Talbot Dam (near Rama) – Lock 38 on the Trent Severn Waterway. The repairs to the dams will result in destruction and permanent alterations of fish habitat which requires Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) to consultation with local First Nations on these proposed impacts to fish habitat since this falls within the treaty territory of Curve Lake First Nation.

To view the presentation by DFO on the details of the repairs to the dams and proposed mitigation measures, hardcopies are available at the reception area of the Government Services Building and electronic version is under news on the Curve Lake First Nation website – www.curvelakefirstnation.ca or by clicking on this link – Dam 38 and Hurdons Presentation – DFO April 2018
