EOCG IS REQUESTING DONATIONS OF HARVESTED TRADITIONAL MEATS AND FISH

Aaniin Curve Lake,

As a measure to enhance food security for our membership, the Emergency Operations Control Group (EOCG) is requesting donations of harvested traditional meats (moose, deer, elk, beaver, muskrat, upland game and waterfowl) and fish. Please harvesters, check your freezers to see if there is anything you can share with fellow members who are in need or will feel comforted by access to traditional foods.

Donations will be accepted on Sunday April 5th at the CLFN Public Works building from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. When you arrive, please park beside the reefer cooler, stay in your vehicle and someone will be there to assist you. If you are unable to attend at this time, please let Jeffrey Jacobs or Emily Whetung know and arrangements can be made.

We are also asking gatherers of medicines such as wiikehn to reach out to our Team so we can put them in contact with members who may be in need of natural medicines.

In exchange for sharing your harvest with the Community you will receive an honourarium.

If needed, harvesters may be asked to go out on the land to harvest fresh wild meat and fish for the Community. They will be compensated to do so if and when the time comes.

If you have any questions please contact Deputy Chief Jeffrey Jacobs at 705-872-1337 or JeffJ@curvelake.ca.
